1. Who we are
Solid Drywall Inc. is an owner-led framing, drywall and taping crew serving Peterborough, Lakefield, Millbrook, Bridgenorth, Lindsay and the Kawarthas. This policy covers soliddrywall.ca and the quotes, emails and texts that come out of it.

2. What we collect
When you request a quote or get in touch
Your name, email address and phone number
The address or neighbourhood of the job
What you tell us about the project, including any photos you send
Anything else you choose to put in the form, a text or an email
When you join our email list
Your name and email address
The date you signed up and where you signed up from, which is how we prove consent under Canada's anti-spam law
When you just visit the site
Collected automatically by cookies and similar tools:
IP address and general location, usually city level
Browser, device and operating system
Which pages you visited, how you got here and how long you stayed
Whether you clicked one of our ads before arriving
We do not collect payment information on this website. Deposits and invoices are handled off the site.

To quote your job, schedule it and do the work
To answer your questions and follow up on a quote
To send you email you asked to receive
To understand how people find and use the site so we can make it better
To measure our advertising and show our ads to people who have already visited
To keep the records the law requires us to keep, like invoices for the CRA
We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, for any reason.
4. Cookies and tracking
A cookie is a small file the site leaves in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others tell us how the site is being used, or let us measure our ads.
Here is everything running on soliddrywall.ca:
Squarespace - Hosts the site. Sets essential cookies for security, forms and basic traffic counts.
Google Analytics 4 - Tells us how many people visit, what they look at and how they found us. Reported in aggregate, not by name.
Google Ads tag - Measures which ads lead to quote requests, and builds remarketing audiences.
Meta Pixel - Measures which Facebook and Instagram ads lead to quote requests, and builds retargeting audiences.
The Google and Meta tags mean you may see our ads later on other websites, on Facebook, on Instagram or on YouTube. That is remarketing. It does not tell us who you are, and we never see a list of names.
Your choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in settings. Block the essential ones and parts of the site may stop working.

Opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the browser add-on
Manage Meta ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings, under Ad preferences
5. Email and texting
We only email you if you asked us to, or if you are a customer and it relates to your job. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and unsubscribing takes effect right away.
If you text us, we will text you back about your project. We do not add your number to a marketing list.
6. Who sees your information
We are a small crew. Inside the company, your information is seen by Danny, Shelley and whoever on the crew needs it to do your job.
Outside the company, we use service providers who handle information on our behalf:
Squarespace, which hosts the website
Google, for the quote form, our email, Google Analytics and Google Ads
Meta, for Facebook and Instagram advertising
SendFox, for our email list
Suppliers and subcontractors, only when your job needs it, and only the detail they need, like a delivery address
Some of these providers store information on servers outside Canada, mostly in the United States, where it can be subject to the laws of that country.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights, our people or someone's safety.
7. How long we keep it
Quote requests that do not turn into jobs: 2 years.
Customer records, contracts and invoices: 7 years, which is what the CRA requires
Email list: until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again
Website analytics: GA4 data retention is 14 months.
8. How we protect it
We use password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication turned on, we limit access to the people who need it, and we work with established providers who handle security at their end. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we treat your information the way we treat your house.
9. Your rights
Under Canada's federal privacy law, PIPEDA, you can:
Ask what personal information we hold about you
Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time
Ask us to delete your information, as long as we are not legally required to keep it

10. Children
This site is meant for adults hiring a contractor. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
11. Other websites
We link out to HomeStars, Google, Instagram and Facebook. Once you leave soliddrywall.ca, their privacy policies apply, not ours.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Worth a look now and then.
