Why we don’t post a price per square foot.
Two rooms with the same square footage can be very different jobs. A vacant basement with 8 foot ceilings is not the same as a lived-in front entrance with a 2-storey stairwell that needs scaffolding. A price off a website can't see that, and it usually ends up wrong in one direction or the other.
So we come look. The onsite visit is free, it takes the guesswork out, and you get a detailed written quote you can actually compare.

What goes into the price.
Size and ceiling height
More square footage means more board and more finishing. Ceilings over 9 feet, vaulted ceilings and stairwells take more time and sometimes scaffolding.
Access
Stairs, narrow hallways, a third-floor room or a long carry from the driveway all add time. Easy access keeps costs down.
Empty or lived in
A vacant space is faster to work in. If you're living there, we set up more protection and work around your furniture and routine. Let us know if the room will be cleared or if we'll be working around belongings.
Existing conditions
Popcorn texture, old plaster, water damage, uneven framing or previous patch jobs all change the prep. Older Peterborough homes often have a surprise or two behind the walls.
Level of finish
Most walls get a standard smooth finish ready for paint. Rooms with big windows, feature walls or harsh lighting may call for a Level 5 finish, which is an extra skim coat over the whole surface so nothing shows through.
